About Troop 706

BSA Troop 706 was chartered by St. Andrews Lutheran Church in December, 1966. Over the past 50 years, Troop 706 has focused on instilling the ideals and values of Scouting as reflected in the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

We focus on developing leadership and citizenship skills by allowing Scouts to lead the Troop and by using the Patrol Method. Adult leaders serve as mentors and support the Scouts and Scout leaders in doing their work. We focus on developing self-confidence and character by providing opportunities for and encouraging rank advancement. We focus on developing self-reliance and outdoor skills by regular outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, canoeing, backpacking, fishing, orienteering, and a variety of other activities.

In our 50 year history, over 125 Scouts from Troop 706 have attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
